Barrister · Consultant · Speaker
Authenticity. Authority. Impact.
For high-achieving women from marginalised backgrounds — developing the professional authority, confidence and identity to lead and influence on their own terms, in service of something greater.
I am a practising barrister and consultant with over 15 years of professional experience across legal practice, advisory work, training and facilitation, speaking and social impact — working with individuals and organisations across professional, public sector, educational and community settings. As a Muslim woman of Bangladeshi heritage, my personal and professional journey has shaped both my identity and the rationale for this work.
My work is rooted in a commitment to helping women develop the authority, confidence and capability to lead, create genuine impact and extend their spheres of influence. Professional success is not the destination. It is the means by which we earn the platform to do something that matters.
The most capable, accomplished and values-led women are not always the most visible or influential — because of structural barriers. This work exists to change that — seriously, honestly and without compromise.

Substantive, considered addresses on ethical leadership, professional identity, purpose and what it means to use a platform in service of something greater. Grounded in legal practice and relevant across professional spheres — from institutions and organisations to community and civic settings. These are not motivational addresses. They are rigorous, honest contributions to conversations that need to be had — on identity and authority, on what professional life is for, and on the responsibility that comes with expertise and influence.
"Zeenat blends razor-sharp eloquence and profound relatability. She speaks articulately and powerfully, conveying her stand for social justice, fairness and equity with passion, clarity of purpose and down-to-earth humanity. She is a force to be reckoned with and a force for good."
Neal Cooper, SpeakUp
"It was the first talk I have been to where I felt represented."

For women who want to develop the authority, confidence and voice to lead on their own terms — and who sense that their professional platform carries a responsibility beyond career advancement.
This work is not coaching. It is advisory — bringing professional judgment, direct experience and serious thinking to bear on a specific situation. It covers professional navigation and development, including communication and voice: how to construct and deliver arguments with authority, how to hold a room, how to perform under pressure, and how to communicate across difference — to rooms that do not reflect you. Grounded in the discipline of legal advocacy and relevant across all professional spheres.
This includes women navigating the early years of a demanding career, those stepping into leadership or returning after a career break — including maternity leave — and those managing the weight of being visibly different in environments not built for them. From early career through to senior leadership, across all professional contexts.
"Zeenat's advice embodies honest and whole empathy, encouragement and faith in who she advises — she works to uplift and guide."
Future Trainee Solicitor
"Working with Zeenat has shown how far she is willing to go for the causes she believes in. The fierceness with which she conducts herself is infectious. She is an extraordinary guide."
Barrister
This work is for organisations that take ethical leadership seriously — and are ready to move beyond stated values into the harder work of building cultures where people can genuinely thrive — not perform.
Most organisations say the right things. Fewer are willing to examine the gap between what they say and what they do. This work is for the ones who are.
The work takes different forms depending on what the organisation needs. This includes structured training and development programmes, specialist skills sessions and masterclasses for specific groups or cohorts, facilitated group discussions and reflective practice, and bespoke consultancy for leadership teams and senior leaders.
For organisations that want sustained, embedded support rather than a one-off intervention, retained engagements are available — combining ongoing advisory input with regular delivery.
Participants include women from marginalised backgrounds at any stage of their careers, as well as leadership teams and senior leaders. For the women, the work focuses on developing confidence, authority and professional identity — and on navigating and overcoming the structural barriers that disproportionately hold them back, including imposter syndrome, visibility and identity-based challenges. Real change requires work at every level — with those navigating the barriers and with those who have the power to remove them. Organisations leave with a more honest picture of their culture and a meaningful basis for change.
This work is also well suited to organisations with widening participation, social mobility and access commitments — including universities, schools, access programmes and professional bodies with outreach and pipeline responsibilities.
Delivered as standalone half or full days, short series or longer bespoke programmes. Retained arrangements available.
"An outstanding lawyer committed to making change within and outside the profession. She is innovative, intelligent and unafraid of being unconventional — with an endless drive to lead, inspire and make a genuine difference."
Raj, Pink Ladoo Project
"The emphasis on listening to your values was so relevant to our cohort who can feel the pressure to aim for certain types of roles rather than being led by what is right for them."
Valerie, Careers Coach
"The students were the most inspired I have ever seen them. I wholeheartedly believe that the lives of my children were changed in those four hours — that they have finally realised that the world is not against them, and that there is always a way to become what you want."

Not sure where to start? An introductory conversation is always the right first step — whether you are an individual, an organisation, or an event looking for a speaker. This is work that takes seriously the questions of power, identity and what you are genuinely capable of.
Start a ConversationChallenging. Deliberately so.
My work has a clear point of view — on inclusion, on leadership, on what professional institutions ask of the people they admit. If you are looking for a neutral facilitator, this is not the right fit. If you are looking for someone who has thought hard about these questions from the inside, is willing to say the uncomfortable thing and will hold you to a higher standard than you might hold yourself — we will work well together.
Values-led. Not performative.
My work is ethically grounded and resistant to tick-box solutions. It is focused on responsibility as well as representation — on closing the gap between what individuals and organisations say they value and how they actually operate.
What are you doing with your platform?
The conveyor belt — qualify, perform, advance, repeat — asks nothing of you beyond yourself. I ask a harder question: what are you doing with your platform? The ambition here is personal and societal transformation — becoming influential and impactful in community and society, not just effective at work.

"An amazing example of a woman who had not let her ethnicity, religion or gender hold her back. She made the girls reach inside themselves and see what they really were and what they could be. So many girls believe they can't reach their dreams — she helped them to see that they could."
